Valid on our club’s waters
REGULATIONS FOR ALL CLUB WATERS
1. General Regulations for all Club Waters.
1.1. Members are required to abide by the terms of the leases granted to the Club and are required to make themselves acquainted with them.
1.2. Membership cards and appropriate national rod licence must always be carried when fishing Club waters and should be produced, on request, to any authorised persons.
1.3. Members should ask anyone fishing Club waters, who they suspect may not be authorised to fish, to produce evidence of their authority. In cases where authority is not produced the name and address of the offender should be obtained, if possible from their rod licence. This should be notified to the Honorary Secretary as soon as possible.
1.4. Litter must never be left and every care must be taken not to discard nylon lines or plastic bags, etc. on the waterside. All gates must be closed. Dogs or radios are not allowed and members must ensure that damage is not caused to any crops or fences and fires must not be lit.
1.5. Gaffs are prohibited and keep nets and landing nets etc, must comply with legal requirements.
1.6. Fish must not be taken from any water with the exception of one trout on any single visit. This limit to include fish taken by a guest.
1.7. All fish should be handled with care and every effort must be made to return fish alive (with the exception in 1.6.) to the water.
1.8. Car park stickers showing your cars number plate should be visible on your dashboard or windscreen whenever you use a Club’s car park on every water.
1.9. On all waters, barbless or microbarbed hooks only are permitted with the one exception of one barbed hook being permitted on a treble used to secure a deadbait.
1.10. Livebaiting, i.e. baiting with live fish is banned on all waters.
2. Bretton Lower Lake
2.1. Members must use the following route to the Lake:
Turn from the Huddersfield-Barnsley Road onto Park Lane at the War Memorial. Enter Beaumont Drive , the access to Bretton Hall, on the left at the Lodge Gate. Keep to the road and then pass in front of the Main Hall. Bear left and cross the small bridge over “The Cut”. Turn left onto the track at the side of the lake. There are two car parking areas at Bretton the first is on the left at this point. The second is on the hardstanding on the left at the end of that e track near the gate onto Damhead. Cars must not be taken past this point. These car parks can be found on “What3words” at – Carpark 1 ///windmill.neck.rigid – Carpark 2 ///seagulls.oddly.runs.
2.2. Full details of any carp caught (date of capture, weight, etc) should be forwarded to the Honorary Secretary. Particular attention should be paid as to whether or not the tissue near any fin is marked with a purple dye and if so a note should be made of which fin. This will allow the size of any fish from the original stocking to be identified. It is unlikely that any of these fish stocked in the 1970’s will have survived.
2.3. Fishing Times – The restricted hours of fishing are currently 7.45am to 5pm on weekdays and 8.30am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
3. River Calder at Stanley
3.1. Access details and extent of the water on the Calder at Stanley is included on the plan. The Club originally had two stretches at this location but have relinquished the rights on the upstream stretch as it was little used and the owner was concerned about angler’s safety. The lower stretch is the one used for both pleasure angling and matches and is pegged. Access to the lower stretch is down the track marked in blue to the locked gate marked on the map with an X. In wet weather please park just off the track to the left of this gate. The “What3words” location is ///farms.king.extend. The combination number the lock can be obtained from the Secretary.
3.2. Members must take a numbered disc from the white, “Token”, box on the fence just past the bungalow and leave it on their dashboard with their car parking ticket whilst fishing.
3.3. When fishing the length marked in red on the map cars must not be driven in wet conditions beyond the designated parking area but otherwise members may drive down the bank to their chosen peg.
3.4. Any restrictions or conditions that the Management Committee may impose from time to time on the number of members and/or member’s cars using this fishery must be strictly observed.
3.5. Care must be taken to avoid fishing beneath or near overhead power cables.
4. Guest Tickets
4.1. General to all Club Waters
4.1.1. Up to three guest tickets may be purchased from the Hon Secretary by each member, in advance, for use within the season at a cost to be agreed from time to time by the Annual General Meeting. The same person cannot be taken as a guest of any members more than three times in a season. Applications should state the name of the guest, the water to be fished and the date on which the ticket is to be used. Payment should be made to the Secretary or by bank transfer at the time of applying. If for any reason a member cannot contact the Secretary for a guest ticket they should contact the Vice-President or Treasurer.
4.1.2. Members must ensure that the guest has the ticket in their possession when fishing our water.
4.1.3. The member is held responsible for the conduct of his guest.
4.1.4. Guest tickets cannot be used on matchdays on the water being used nor on Saturday or Sundays before the 1 September each year.
Guest Ticket Regulations for Specific Waters.
4.2.1. Bretton.
A further condition for use of guest tickets at Bretton is that in the rare event of sufficient other members arriving to fish which would cause the 12 rod limit to be exceeded, the member accompanied by a guest must stop fishing in the arriving member’s favour.
4.2.2. Harewood
Only three guests are allowed at Harewood on any one day.
4.2.3. Calder at Stanley
At present there are no restrictions but the Management Committee may introduce some if felt necessary.
